Nearly 100 people at home and abroad gathered in Beijing, including Academician Han Jisheng, Prof. Anthony T. Yeung (the Director of Spinal Surgery, Phoenix, Arizona), Prof. Hou Shuxun (the Director of China Institute of Bone and Joint Research of Beijing 304 Hospital), Prof. Di Ke (the famous expert of Spinal Surgery), Prof. Ding Yu (the Honorary Director and Member of Minimally invasive spine Expert Committee of China Association of Chinese Medicine, Prof. Zhu Tengyue (the Director and Member of the Minimally invasive spine Expert Committee of China Association of Chinese Medicine), Prof. Jin Zhixian (the Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery of the Armed Forces and Associate Professor of the Department of Neurosurgery of Medical School of Seoul National University, South Korea), and they discussed the hot and difficult points in the field of minimally invasive spine surgery, particularly in the intervertebral aperture mirror technique, and a luxurious feast was provided to everyone. Prof. Zhu Tengyue said that a platform for international exchanges was built by everyone. The Minimally invasive spine Expert Committee of China Association of Chinese Medicine was established in China for the complex public health issues such as spine and chronic diseases brought from aging populations under the context of comprehensively deepening the reform of the medical and health system and adhering to the development of Chinese and Western medicine, and their prevention, treatment and health should be highly concerned by the public and the health care industry. The theme of this meeting was the integration and development of minimally invasive spine techniques, the active avocation of the convergence of Chinese and Western medicine, the development of the integration of the application of Chinese and Western medicine with their own theories and advantages, and the active promotion of the prosperity and development of minimally invasive spine surgeries. The expert committee will integrate the power of multidisciplinary techniques, carry out the in-depth technique and research cooperation and enhance the close communication between international minimally invasive spine experts for mutual benefit and win-win results! Prof. Ding Yu said that the theme of this meeting was the integration and development of minimally invasive spine techniques and the active avocation of the convergence of various professions. We are willing to work together with the experts in the fields of orthopedics, neurosurgery, sports medicine, pain medicine, and rehabilitation medicine to make contributions to the development of the minimally invasive spine cause. Prof. Anthony T. Yeung affirmed China's tremendous progress in minimally invasive spine surgery in China and he also hoped to build an international platform for minimally invasive spine techniques in the future to jointly develop the minimally invasive spine cause. At the meeting, Prof. Anthony T. Yeung introduced to us the application of double pulse holmium laser in spinal endoscopy, and he believed that the double pulse holmium laser was a valuable surgical tool for spinal endoscopic surgery and it has unparalleled advantages in the process of ligamentum flavum ablation, osteophyte and calcification. The double pulse holmium laser makes the minimally invasive spine surgery more safe and efficient. At the meeting, the Director Chang Feng shared the assistance of the double pulse holmium laser in spinal endoscopic surgery, and praised its application in the ablation of the dorsal osseous tissue at the lateral recess. The double-pulse holmium laser has many effects, and it can also protect the nerve root very well. For interstitial stenosis, the double pulse holmium laser can exert its greatest advantages and make some surgeons more confident in more difficult surgeries and make the patients feel safer. Prof. Zhu Hongwei has many years of experience in spinal endoscopic surgery. At the conference, Prof. Zhu shared the application of the double pulse holmium laser in spinal endoscopic surgery. The use of double pulse holmium laser for spinal endoscopy is an innovation of tools. The surgery ws constantly evolved and the human is constantly improved, while our tools must also be reformed and innovated with time.
